This is a self-supported event. You and you alone are responsible for your own safety. You are expected to complete the route under your own power and without outside assistance. There is water on route. Other supplies are limited to what you carry. Please asses your own physical abilities and navigation skills as there will be no assistance provided.
To some of us, 50 miles is not the longest of distances, but do not be fooled, THIS IS A VERY DEMANDING ROUTE. The climbs are plentiful and steep. The descents are fast, sketchy, and navigation will not be straightforward. 50/50 single track to fire road ratio, and with minimal pavement sections. Expect lots of climbing--9500 feet of it. Expect primitive and unmarked trails. Expect big scenery and a challenging yet very rewarding day in the saddle. You will be treated to views of Mt. Baldy, Mt. Baden Powell and the Sheep Creek Wilderness. You will look down into Azusa Canyon and the Inland Empire one moment and then out into the Mojave Desert the next. These trails and roads are all open to the public. Expect to run into all types of users including hikers, horses and hunters. This is not an organized or sanctioned event. All that will be provided to you is a GPS route, a set of cues to guide you, and a suggested date and time to ride it the route with others. Please consider your information entry below as a commitment to participate in the event. The participant field will be limited to 50 riders. After submitting your sign up form, you will be directed to the route information. Bookmark the page for future reference.
